We are very pleased to be able to launch our grant fund and be able to offer grants for woodland and ecology projects in Jersey.
If you are a charity or private non-profit group or organisation, engaging in a nature based “eco” project that will support or enhance woodland or the local environment and ecologies, we may be able to help.
We especially want to support projects that get more people engaged and provide hands on experience in helping the environment.
ABOUT THE FUND
The fund has been made possible by a bequest to Jersey Trees for Life from the family of long time supporters keen on protecting the island’s natural environment.
The closing date is the 31st May 2018 and we hope to award grants by the 30th of June 2018. We will allow appropriate time scales to complete the projects as required.
Grants may be available to non-commercial organisations, groups, or individuals with a woodland or ecology project, or piece of work, that will benefit the local natural environment or community.
Applications will be individually assessed and successful applications will be awarded funding on merit, at the discretion of the Jersey Trees for Life trustees.
Jersey Trees for Life
Creating, preserving, protecting, and managing our environment is an integral part of our activities and it is essential if we all want a healthy and balanced environment for the future.
We may also provide help or advice with planting and environmental or woodland management, or with more specific technical guidance to ensure a successful outcome.
WHAT PROJECTS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING?
We are open to ideas: Planting new or caring for existing woodland, creating a community garden, recreating lost habitats or specialist planting projects like a food forest to name but a few. If the opportunities are there and you apply we can consider helping with funding. We are keen to support any project with nature in mind and especially well considered sustainable projects that will last and keep on giving.
If you are in any doubt about potential eligibility feel free to contact us via email.
