We are delighted that two leading arboricultural experts are to be visiting Jersey this spring: Owen Johnson, former Chief Recorder of “TROBI” (the Tree Register of the British Isles), and Tony Russell, former Head Forester at Westonbirt Arboretum.
Owen, who has visited the island before, is very much looking forward to seeing the Forgotten Forest once more to witness at first hand the restoration work that has gone on since his last visit in 2003. He will be here from May 16th to 23rd.
Tony is visiting as part of Jersey Tourism’s ‘June in Bloom’ festival and will be in the island between June 16th and 23rd.
We’re hoping that both Owen and Tony will lead walks around the Arboretum at Val de la Mare giving our members a unique chance to see the project from the perspective of these learned arboriculturalists. Check back for more details.
