Jersey’s Alder Collection

In a meadow which borders the Corbiere Walk in St Brelade is the island’s finest collection of alder trees. Approximately 60 trees from a number of different Alnus species form a unique collection in Jersey which was awarded National Plant Collection status by the National Council for the Conservation of Plants & Gardens (NCCPG) in 1991. The organisation is often referred to today as Plant Heritage.

We are hoping to improve the interpretation signage at this project soon, by involving local students, to allow islanders to appreciate and learn about this special collection.
