Sunday 11th Febuary and time for the annual Jersey Conservation volunteers to join us on our Hedgerow Campaign.
It has to be said that we were very impressed by the turnout of approx 40 people, including a mini-busload of foreign exchange students courtesy of Durrell Conservation. The weather that day was, shall we say, less than favourable, yet everyone proceeded admirably against the hail showers and intermittent rain.
After a couple of hours hard graft, nearly 400 native species of hedging whips were planted, bringing our current Hedgerow Campaign tally to over 3000!
Thank you to all who attended and a special thank you to Julia Meldrum from the States Environment Dept who was instrumental in organising this event.
