Jersey Trees for Life is very pleased to be involved with The Roy Overland Charitable Trust Woodland and Ecology Grant Fund.
This annual fund provides grants to ecological projects that will support or enhance woodland planting and care or local wildlife environments on the island.
Grants are available to Jersey based charities or private non-profit groups or organisations.
ABOUT THE ROY OVERLAND CHARITABLE TRUST FUND
The fund has been made available by a bequest to Jersey Trees for Life from the estate of the late Roy Overland and his wife, long time supporters of Trees for Life, keen on protecting the island’s natural environment for the future.
WHO CAN APPLY
Grants may be available to non-commercial organisations, groups, schools, or individuals with a woodland or ecology project, or piece of work, that will benefit the local natural environment or community.
Applications will be individually assessed and successful applications will be awarded funding on merit, at the discretion of the Jersey Trees for Life trustees.
WHEN TO APPLY
in the past a final date each year was set but in 2019 we are trialling the alternative where we will always accept applications and award funding in the present cycle if it is available or, if not, offer consideration in the next annual cycle.
WHAT PROJECTS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING?
Amongst the projects supported so far have been School Forest Gardens, Funds for trees and equipment for special needs groups, trees for an organic food garden and forest. We are open to ideas though so it could be for planting new or caring for existing woodland, creating a community garden, recreating lost or endangered habitats, resurrecting a pond. If the opportunities are there and you apply we can consider helping with funding. We are keen to support any project with nature in mind and especially well considered sustainable projects that will last and keep on giving.
If you are in have any questions about applying please EMAIL US or call us on 857611. We are open weekdays 9:00 am – 1:30 pm.
