A transport and import warning has been shared by Jersey department of environment regarding Xylella fastidiosa, a bacterial pathogen found in parts of Italy and France causing wilts, diebacks, stunts and leaf shorts on a growing number of tree species. Whilst not present in the UK or Channel Islands, greater vigilance and consideration is required regarding provenance of any imported trees that could come from affected regions.
